A restaurant's customers live within a few miles, order the same few things, and keep the coupon card that came in the mail on the refrigerator for weeks. Saturation mail might as well have been designed for restaurants: every home on the routes around the restaurant, no list to buy, and a 6×11 card with the offers and a QR code to the menu.

Through our exclusive partnerships with the three largest print mail companies in the US, 6×11 coupon postcards, grand opening announcements and catering offers are printed and mailed on the partner mail date that best fits the promotion, priced for the restaurant's city. Your own customers, from online ordering or a loyalty program, can get a card of their own with a different offer.

What restaurants & food businesses mail

  • 6×11 saturation coupon postcards with a QR code to the full menu
  • Grand opening saturation to every route within 3 miles
  • Delivery-area drops that match the neighborhoods your drivers already cover
  • Catering and holiday party 6×11 cards to nearby businesses
  • Loyalty and win-back 5×8.25 postcards from your POS or online ordering data
  • Seasonal and game-day coupon cards

The coupon card

A 6×11 postcard carries three offers on the back, a photo that makes people hungry on the front and a QR code to the full online menu, and it is built to go out as saturation mail. Mailed to every household on the routes around the restaurant, it costs a fraction of a paper menu mailing and does the same job now that every menu lives on a phone. Pizza places, Chinese and Thai restaurants, delis and wing shops mail it every eight to twelve weeks.

Coupons that get redeemed

Three offers on the card, not ten: a family deal, a lunch deal and a first-order discount for delivery. Each with an expiration date about five weeks out and a code so you know which card produced the order. The offer should be worth the trip; a small percentage off does not move anyone, a free appetizer with a minimum order does.

Grand openings

Saturate every route within three miles two weeks before opening with a "we are opening" card, then again the week of with a coupon, then a third card about a month in to the same routes. Three touches around an opening produce a first-month crowd that reviews and word of mouth then carry. The mail dates are booked backward from opening day with the print partner covering your area, so send the date as soon as it is set.

A coupon card to every home around the restaurant is usually the 6×11; how it sizes up against the 5×8.25 is in postcard sizes and mailing rules.

Restaurants & Food direct mail questions

How much does restaurant direct mail cost?

It is quoted for the routes around the restaurant and the drop: a 6×11 saturation coupon postcard is the lowest-cost option, and the number of routes and pieces sets the price. Send the ZIP codes or the address and radius through the quote form and a written quote for your city comes back.

How often should a restaurant mail its neighborhood?

Every eight to twelve weeks to the same routes, with the offers refreshed each time. Coupon cards are kept, so the goal is to be the card on the refrigerator when the household decides not to cook.

Can you mail menus?

We print postcards only, so the full menu goes on the card as a QR code to your online menu, with your three best offers printed large. A 6×11 saturation postcard reaches every home on the route and is kept on the refrigerator the way a paper menu used to be.

What should a restaurant coupon postcard include?

Three offers, not ten: a family deal, a lunch deal and a first-order discount for delivery. Give each one an expiration date about five weeks out and a code, so you know which card brought the order. A free appetizer with a minimum order gets people in; a small percentage off doesn't.
