Direct mail for automotive
Automotive postcards: sales events, service reminders and buyback offers
Direct mail postcards for car dealerships, auto repair, tire and oil change shops, body shops and detailers: sales event cards, service reminders, buyback and trade-up offers, and saturation mail around the shop.
Dealerships mail because sales events fill a lot for a weekend, and service departments mail because a reminder at 5,000 miles is worth a repair order. Independent shops mail because the households within five miles of the bays are the whole market. In most cases the mail can be aimed by what the household drives and when, using the sales and service records the store already holds.
We produce 6×11 sales event postcards with variable offers per household and vehicle, 5×8.25 service reminder cards mailed from a DMS or shop-system export, buyback and trade-up cards to owners of specific models in your records, and saturation mail to the routes around the store.
What automotive businesses mail
- 6×11 sales event postcards with variable offers per household and vehicle
- Service reminders and oil change coupon cards from the DMS
- Buyback, trade-up and equity cards to owners of specific models
- Conquest cards to a competing-make owner list you license
- Saturation mail for independent shops, tire stores and car washes
- State inspection and seasonal tire change postcards
Vehicle data
The best automotive list is the one the store already has: the DMS knows the make, model, model year and purchase date for every customer, along with the service history. That is what makes a buyback card to owners of a three-year-old model, a reminder to a customer who is due, or a tire offer to households with a vehicle that is due so much more productive than a general offer. Conquest mail to owners of a competing make needs a vehicle-owner list licensed from a data provider; we don't sell lists, but we mail that one too.
Service mail that pays
A service reminder mailed at the interval, with a coupon and a QR code to schedule, costs a few cents of print and processing plus postage and produces repair orders worth hundreds. The best programs work from the shop system's records: due for service, declined-service follow-up, state inspection month, and a thank-you after the visit with a referral offer, exported and mailed as one batch. A dealer or a busy independent can fill a 1,000-piece order from a month or two of those records.
Service reminders to your own customer file go out through the postcard mailing service; the jumbo card most shops use is described under direct mail postcards.

Answers
Automotive direct mail questions
How much do automotive sales event mailers cost?
It is quoted for the dealership's market and the drop: a 6×11 postcard to your customer or vehicle-owner list with variable offers per household. Send the market, the quantity and the event dates through the quote form for a written quote.
Can you mail service reminders from our DMS?
Yes. Send an export from your DMS or shop management system and reminder postcards go to each customer with their vehicle, the service due and a coupon printed per card. Orders start at 1,000 pieces, so most stores mail reminders monthly as one batch rather than one card at a time.
Can I mail owners of a specific vehicle model?
Yes, from your own sales and service records, or from a vehicle-owner list you license by make, model, model year and ZIP code, for buyback, trade-up, conquest and recall-related mailings. The list comes from you or your data provider.
What is a conquest mailing?
A postcard to people who drive a competing make, drawn by ZIP code from a vehicle-owner list you license, with a reason to switch. Your own records drive buyback and trade-up cards to owners of one model and year. That's what sets automotive mail apart: it can be aimed at the car actually in the driveway.
